A vacancy exists for a Clinical Engineer at Life Anncron Clinic. This position entails the optimisation and management of medical equipment, from acquisition through to eventual disposal on a regional level. It includes all aspects of medical equipment maintenance. The position reports to the Hospital Manager Alex Daneel.
Establishing and maintaining an accurate inventory of all medical equipment. Accurate record keeping of all inspections, tests and repairs to medical equipment. Executing planned preventative maintenance on all medical equipment. Diagnosing and trouble shooting of medical equipment failure. Liaising with doctors and Hospital Manager regarding medical equipment requests, and purchasing approved items. Liaising with vendors for repairs and services, keeping up to date with technical advances. Training of medical staff on correct , safe and responsible usage of medical equipment. Working towards an improved hospital maintenance service as an integral part of the maintenance team. Maintenance of the On-Key planned maintenance process Ordering equipment, consumables and services using the Smartstream procurement system. Ensuring ongoing compliance with the quality assurance systems.
Required qualification is either a Clinical Engineer Diploma (S4), or an Electronic Engineering Diploma with at least 3 years experience on the repair and maintenance of medical equipment. Valid Drivers license Computer skills in Microsoft Office – Outlook, MS Excel, MSWord, PowerPoint The successful candidate must display the following competencies: initiative; the ability to inspire professionalism; attention to detail; strong results orientation; and excellent communication skills.
